RESEARCHING WITH MULTIPLE AGENDAS/ QUESTIONS
Researchers, tonight, as you research, continue holding your own agenda in mind as you read. Your research question should be front and center as you tackle your new text. That is, if you are reading about droughts, your agenda might be, “Who has power over water?” If you are reading about earthquakes, your agenda might be, “Where are the most potentially dangerous places to live?”
One thing to consider though, is just like your ideas about your topic evolved as you gathered more information, so too could your research question. As you read tonight, you may find that your initial question along with your new learning may lead you to an additional research question or idea; try coming up with an additional agenda or question as you tackle your reading. If you are studying tsunamis, perhaps one question you have is, “What part of the tsunami causes the most destruction?” And another could be, “How does poverty influence tsunami damage?” Read with both these questions in mind, adding the new information you learn to your growing collection of notes on your topic. Write a summary of your notes on the blog.

Hi, i am in the drought group and one additional question I have is that why can't other states (not having a drought at this moment) lend another state such as California some of there water?

Great question, but what if the state that needs more water has more people than the other state that is giving water so that state eventually turns into a drought area?

Good point molly i think that maybe they could borrow some water and use what they have for a while but another question is what happens if power goes out and they can't get any water?

My first question is what happens during a drought?
My additional question is if you live in a dry area
where droughts happen more frequently, what landscape can you use to help minimize the use of water.

I think it is good because you add a question and I just like how you did this.

I was looking at tsunamis. I wonder why the earthquakes cause tsunamis? I read once that the ripples cause it, but how does it get that big? They get HUGE!

My topic is on hurricanes. So, my questions are, if you live near an ocean where is the safest place to go during a hurricane? My second question is, how do you measure the size of hurricanes?
Notes
I have learned that when warm water evaporates and cold drops of water fall from the sky, the air will collect dust and sea salt. This rotation is called condensation. This will create a hurricane.

I saw that in flood, sometimes they are caused by tsunamis. Also sometimes the ocean waters of a tsunami can turn into a hurricane

HI, I am in the flood group. I have one main question that I will be focusing on in the next few days. That is: HOW CAN WE HELP OTHERS STAY SAFE DURING FLOODS? AND IS THERE ANY WAY TO PREVENT FLOODS FROM HAPPENING?

Hi guys I'm researching floods. I found some interesting data... VERY interesting... Anyhoo, apparently there IS NO SPECIFIC WAY to measure floods. The most common variation is the still well. This consists of a hole in the ground and a floating device (maybe a lifesaver used on boats?) at the bottom. When the floater is at a specific height, which depends on the city's elevation and its ability to cope with a flood.

Hi! I am researching about about Earthquakes. I have learned that they are very destructive and they cost a lot to repair. This got me wondering if Earthquakes can bring down cities physically and with the cost of repair. I can't wait to research more about this big question. I hope I can find the answer!

I am in the hurricanes group and I was wonder usually what time of year hurricanes occur. I want to know this because if a hurricane occurred when I was on a trip to somewhere tropical then I would know if I was in hurricane season.
